“Would recommend”

We have been clients of Thameswood Purton Road for many years. Being Tonkinese breeders it is very important that we feel confident in our relationship with our veterinary practice. Thameswood are experienced professionals, the clinic is pristine clean and the staff knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

“Mr Nick & Mrs Eiovana Hartley (owners)”

Have been customer over 20 years plus and they are both very friendly and when seen either of them directly they listen and fully understand and off course fully advice on all aspects. They know what we are like with our animals often being unwanted pets taken. All staff are great. Would very highly recommend. Thank you Thameswood Vets

“Clinics”

Having been a pet owner for many years including hampsters, rats, rabbits and dogs, i have visited many veterinary clinics. I have scored Thameswood accordingly, can't fault the clinic. My opinion was recently reinforced when i visited a clinic in Oxfordshire. To my horror i could not believe the contrast in service, chalk and cheese comes to mind. In my complaint i used the analogy, took my car in for a tyre inspection, told i would need a new engine, gearbox and back axle.

“Best vets ever”

Since using Thameswood I have discover that not all vets are the same. The reception area is friendly. Set within the room so there is no seperation between staff and clients. The receptionists seem to know every animal and always come to say hello. All staff care about your pet, which as an owner is exactly what you want. They are very interested in preventative measures, fantastic with the everyday health of your pet.
They are all very happy to talk and give advice over the phone for those of us that are neurotic over our pets. They will tell you if the animal needs to come to be seen.
All in all the best vets in Swindon.

“The BEST Vets, they care about your animals almost as much as you do!”

Having visited Thamesdown vets over 2 years ago with a friends puppy I thought the reception, the vets & nurses were so friendly but professional.
I now have a puppy and joined my local vets as I live in West Swindon.
I was stunned at the difference. No friendly staff, didn't give any advice on my first time ownership! No health plan offered. I left confused and anxious as they didn't pay my pup much attention.
After another visit the next day, which was just as bad, I cancelled with them and quickly rang Thamesdown!!
My puppy & family loved it. Great staff, tons of info, explained EVERYTHING and most of all my puppy was wagging his tail ten to the dozen, so, most importantly puppy loved it!! And my families minds are at ease knowing he is bring looked after by the best of the best!
Thamesdown, you are great.
Thankyou.
Love from (Cav King Charles Spaniel) Jack aged 9wks

“Awesome Service! :)”

My beautiful rescue act was registered with Thameswood in Purton Road in March and the service has been amazing!
When I phoned through the first time I was given all the details of the healthcare service; costs, benefits etc and it was explained fully without being pushy on the sales pitch.
When I came for her free check up they were so nice, made a fuss of me and my cat and what I really appreciated was being told that if my cat didn't little the vet she saw this time that I could change vets - I've never been offered this before and it was great as my cat prefers women to men
The people were lovely, the place doesn't smell of wet animal or of too much disinfectant which put my cat at ease very quickly.
Been there a few times for help with administering worming tablets and claw cutting and its been a lovely visit each time. I am fully confident in all the staff that my cat would decided the best care if she went there for something more serious. Happy to recommend to others :)

“Amazing support and care”

I've never met such a welcoming, kind, friendly and supportive surgery. 2 years ago our 16 year old cat had to be put down. Everyone was so kind. An appointment was arranged when not many people would be there. It was done in a very caring way.

6 months later our 4 yr old guinea pig had to be put down and again they were all so kind.

Recently we got a kitten and as it was 18 yrs since we got a kitten I was lost! I was shown to the 'kitten club' and given amazing advice and help.

Yes there are cheaper surgeries but all they want is your money! Thameswood care about you and your animals. My dog loves going there!!!! Lol!

Thank you to all the hard working staff x

“Beyond the call of duty”

My cat Gino became a 'patient' after being run over, and my regular vet refusing to see him as i didnt not have the funds available to cover the emergency consultation/treatment. The RSPCA recommended Thameswood and from the moment i stepped through the door i understood why. The surgeon who operated on Gino(Nick)was very honest about Ginos injuries, and gave a true estimate of cost. He operated on Gino and even when Gino appeared to take a turn for the worse he showed compassion and honesty - and put up with my crying and snivelling pleading to keep Gino alive no matter the cost. Only once Gino was well enough to come home was the matter of his bill discussed - and not only did the fantastic team at Thameswood welcome me and Gino in a very difficult time and get my boy back to good health they then set up a manageable payment plan so i could pay his ã1100 bill. Truly amazing people who are clearly in the business for the care of the animals and not the money. Not only did they save my Gino's life but they took a huge risk on me, and i will always have a great respect for the whole team.

Purton Road surgery were very understanding and helpful when my 15 year old Parson's Jack Russell had a stroke. They are also great with his replacement Spot, who is a west highland X, and very energetic and excitable. I would recommend them to any one.

“Caring Vets”

Our dog, Pippa, is 8 years old and has spent a lot of time at Thameswood Vets. They are such caring vets and always explain things carefully to us. I wouldn't go anywhere else. All the staff are supportive and friendly. Pippa is an important part of our family.
