On Saturday, when our vet was closed for the weekend, our black Labrador retriever somehow lost an entire back claw. With great anxiety we rang Pets at Home, who made an immediate appointment for him with a very friendly , capable and first-class vet, who confirmed that he had indeed lost a whole claw and who straightaway cauterised it, which stopped the bleeding, and sent us home with antibiotics/painkillers and advice on after-care.there was blood all over the surgery floor, but the vet was very kind, didn't seem to mind, and was calm and extremely efficient. We couldn't have wished for better treatment( or more prompt) for Sam, who is walking round with a sock on, and getting better every day. The wound is as clean as a whistle.
We shall recommend this service to all our friends and will make it our own veterinary practice from now on. We couldn't be happier or more impressed, and cannot give enough praise.

My cocker spaniel suddenly had difficulty getting up the back step into the house. We needed a vet to see him on a Sunday but our usual vet could only be contacted by 'the out of hours' number which attracts a higher bill. So I checked the Internet for vets available on a Sunday and found this practise at the Beehive in Cambridge. They agreed to see my dog, on a Sunday, thoroughly checked him all over, gave him medication and we received a very reasonable bill. I would thoroughly recommend this practise. Everyone was so friendly and it really seemed they put the animal first without over -inflated costs. My dog was back to his usual self in a couple of days. We were very grateful to be able to see a vet on a Sunday.
