“Great care, great staff.”

In November 2013 my lovely little dog Tess let me know that she had had enough. I got her when she was 11 and consequently after years of neglect from her previous owner she was never in the best of health. However, she had a lovely 5 years ruling the roost in my care. When she was ready to go I took her to the vets and without a prior appointment she was seen by Mel Pryor who helped her on her way. Mel was kindness itself and I can still remember what she said to me, ensuring that I knew that I was doing the right thing and had got the timing right. That had always been a worry of mine. I had said that although I didn't feel right without a dog I would never get another one. In March, my son convinced me that I wasn't as happy as when I had Tess and so off I went to the rescue centre again where I found my lovely Layla. Crazy hound, very mixed up and unsure of the world she came to live with me in March. Yesterday she was spayed at Acorn Vet Practice and was seen by Mel Pryor. Mel again was kindness itself. Mel made plans for Layla to be operated on first on the list and she was home within only a couple of hours in order to reduce her stress levels. Mel was kind and gentle with Layla and without a doubt 'gets' how much people love their animals. Layla is very anxious around new people but was perfectly calm with Mel, allowing her to examine her. Mel is clearly genuinely kind and this shines through. However, Mel does not work alone and I feel I must mention the lovely nurses who were also really kind to Layla. Everyone is kind and professional at this practice and I would not go anywhere else. Highly recommended.
