This condition is called Distichiasis and it is a difficult thing to spot as the hairs tend to be so fine. It is a recognised condition which is more common in certain breeds, so it may not have been a typical breed to expect to see it in. Typically diagnosis is prompted by an ulcer failing to heal despite being treated aggresively, then we start to wonder why. We are sorry to hear that your dog has this condition as it can be difficult to manage longterm as the abnormal hairs tend to keep regrowing, but hope that he is feeling better now.
