Alan gives over 100% to his human and non human clients.
I live in Bedfordshire and I travel all the way to Radlett with my bunnies and occasionally my poultry because I know they get superb care. I know of other rabbit owners who also travel this distance to see him as well. The outcome is not always successful (I currently have 8 rescue bunnies and have been seeing Alan since he was at Watford before he took over Radlett, so many many years) but more often than not he wins or buys extra time against all odds. Some local vets do not even try or say 'well it is just a rabbit'.
You are never rushed in the consultation room and I don't think Alan ever goes home as he often rings you after surgery has finished with results and to discuss treatment options. He is a highly dedicated and caring vet. He does not get irritated or dismissive when you bring in something you have read on the web and talks you through whether there is logic to the proposal or not.
I will continue to drive 1 hour plus each way to see him as I know my bunnies get the best care there from him and his fabulous team led by the amazing head nurse, Laura.

I couldn't recommend this practice highly enough. I have a very precious and adored Mini Lop houserabbit called Hopkins, who was diagnosed with osteomyelitis at the age of 18 months, which causes multiple health problems, and all other vets told me he was a lost cause. He means the world to me and the possibility of losing him was devastating. Shortly after this I was lucky enough to find Mr Hirschowitz and he has quite literally saved my rabbit's life on many occasions. He has always dealt with Hopkins with enormous kindness, skill and patience, and no matter how many times we have to go we are never made to feel a nuisance. Hopkins is now 4 years and 4 months old with a marvellous quality of life considering his health problems, and this is entirely due to Mr Hirschowitz, I truly could never thank him enough. The rest of his team are also fantastic, so kind and caring; Hopkins actually looks forward to his appointments! There just aren't words to say how impressed and grateful I am. I would wholeheartedly say that this is the best vet and the most oustanding team you will ever find.

I have been a client of Alan's since the end of the nineties. He first looked after my dear rescued persian Charlie. He was so kind, sensible, empathic and loving to Charlie, my mother and myself. I remember the very sad day that we had to have him put to sleep because he was so ill and there was nothing more we could do for him. Alan was amazing. He even kissed the top of Charlie's head before he gave the injection. Although all three of us were desperately sad, it was a very beautiful moment. In those days, Alan worked in the Muswell Hill Branch. However, he then left Medivet for a few months to go to live in South Africa. We thought that it was permanent. We were devastated. Imagine our joy when we found that he was back in England. However, this time he was at Radlett. By this time we had our wonderful tortoiseshell called Beatrix. When Beatrix needed the vet, there was not a moment's hesitation. Even though it was half an hour away, we will go to Radlett. We did not want any other vet.
I hope by reading my story, you will realise that Alan, and his amazingly wonderful and caring team, is quite simply excellent. It is remotely possible that you will find a practice as good but I doubt you will find one better.

I have 4 much loved family dogs - the team at Medivet Radlett have been caring for them for 6 years and I would highly recommend Alan as an extremely thorough, understanding yet no nonsense vet. He is genuinely interested in their welfare and my dogs are in the best of hands in the practice. On a couple of occasions I have had to use the Medivet Watford out of hours service and it gave me great comfort to know that they had instant access to my dogs records in an emergency and that I have 24 hour a day care available for my dogs whenever they need it. I have absolute trust in all the team - I know that they treat them well because my dogs are not afraid to go in there - in fact they know its treat time when we walk through the doors because Alan spoils them! Laura is an absolute asset to the practice as well and is extremely experienced and knows all about your animals as well which is very reassuring.
I wouldn't take my furkids anywhere else.

Both Alan and Harriet are two vets I would recommend to a any client. Their combined knowledge over not just cats and dogs but also more exotic species makes them a great combination and I am always happy to seek their advise with my pets.

I have 2 extremely loved pugs and the only vet I fully trust is Medivet Radlett. Alan the vet is amazing and also all his staff. Going to the vet is a pleasurable experience for my pugs and in fact Boris gets upset if he has to wait his turn to see Alan. In fact Boris's life was saved by Alan's excellent advice. I would not hesitate to recommend this surgery

Alan, the vet, is fabulous as are the nurses! Wendell, my Lhasa Apso, drags me in as he loves the treats and the fuss that gets made of him!
Alan and staff are great! They have a real love for the work that they do and the pets that come in. Alan is clear in his treatments and provides advice yet is not pushy. He will happily discuss any pro's and con's the treatment.
Bottom line for me is that Wendell loves his visits and I respect the advice been given as Alan has the dogs best interest at heart!
