“The Best Vet in the Area”

I have lived in the area for several decades & have checked out all the vets in the area at one time or another, so my review is well researched, I believe. What I've found is that the Mayow road practice offers the best care service for your pet available. Treatment is appropriate & supported by well reasoned explanations of the available options. Downside I feel is that staff turnover is too high, but for balance I'd say all the local vets seem to suffer from that same problem. None the less it's still the first choice vet in this area & I woulddn't hesitstecto recommend them.

“Wonderful veterinary surgery”

Always so friendly and helpful whenever I have to take my dog to there. The staff were also very kind when I made the horrible decision of putting my cat to sleep. Some surgeries can seem so cold.

“So kind to my dog”

Vincent was so kind to my staffy girl who gets really stressed at the vet. He went out of his way to accommodate her issues which put me more at ease. She had a little lump removed from her mouth and is doing really well. Thanks so much for your kind approach. Lynne

“Fantastic first impression.”

I recently imported my dog to England and had been prospecting my local veterinary surgeries for quite some time before the move. The reason I chose Mayow Vets was based on a few things. Firstly there was the website which is very good and has a lot of information and the ability to register your pet online. Secondly once you are there you are greeted by friendly staff who take a genuine interest in your animal companion.
During our first consultation our vet Danielle was very calm and gentle in her approach and was very keen in answering all my questions and providing information. I never felt that the consultation was being rushed in any way and left very satisfied.

“Thoroughly Professional”

The vet I saw was very sensitive to the needs of my nervous rescue dog
who has issues with men especially if they are standing up!He got down to his level to do the examination and was generous in his use of when trying to persuade my dog to get on the scales to be weighed.
He was reassuring in his diagnosis, gave me ointment to put on the hot spot and suggested a tshirt to stop the dog licking himself. The
vet was thoroughly professional.

“Excellent vet even for pygmy hedgehogs ”

We have an African pygmy pet hedgehog 'hoggle' as these pets arent very common we were worried about vet care and finding a vet that has knowledge and experience with them, Tony at Mayow is that vet he's extremely good with hoggle and understands the issues that can arise when having an exotic pet. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly and hoggle is treated like a star when he has to go in, the surgery is very clean, affordable and personal including reminder texts which have his name not just 'your pet'! A great veterinary surgery is definitely recommend!

“complete trust in my animals care”

Our two elderly dogs, and even older cat, all go to this practice. Some years ago our dog Taylor was in a lot of pain and I took him to the surgery. Although his condition turned out to be quite a serious and unusual one , Mr Rogers suspected the correct cause immediately, and the very next day saw us referred to, and seen at, a specialist centre( Noel Fitzpatrick 'the bionic vet' for emergency treatment on a compressed spinal cord. Without this quick diagnosis we would not still have our dear 'boy' four years later. He still relys on a lot of mediction usually reserved for us humans, but I never have a problem obtaining this from the surgery. Our animals mean everything to us - and we would'nt take them anywhere else!

“Dilly”

Our elderly cat Dilly was due her "Booster" in December. I was impressed with the friendly atmosphere and particularly pleased by the sensitive handling she received. Well done Mayow, I will certainly be returning and have no hesitation in recommending you.

“Marmite”

I spotted my cat Marmite limping and unable to put weight on his back left paw, so took him to Mayow vets who gave him painkillers and said he could be kept indoors to rest until an x ray two days later. Marmite ignored advice and just got quicker at running round the house on 3 legs. The vee explained that whilst the x ray showed he has broken a toe, the rest of the toes act as a natural splint so no surgery or cast is needed. I am very grateful that he didn't suggest treatment if nature and time would heal things, and for his calm and reassuring manner with me and Marmite, and using easy to understand language.I'm sure if Marmite could speak he would say thank you, but 4 weeks is far too long to stay in when there are mice to chase...!
