“Thoroughly Professional”

The vet I saw was very sensitive to the needs of my nervous rescue dog
who has issues with men especially if they are standing up!He got down to his level to do the examination and was generous in his use of when trying to persuade my dog to get on the scales to be weighed.
He was reassuring in his diagnosis, gave me ointment to put on the hot spot and suggested a tshirt to stop the dog licking himself. The
vet was thoroughly professional.

“Excellent vet even for pygmy hedgehogs ”

We have an African pygmy pet hedgehog 'hoggle' as these pets arent very common we were worried about vet care and finding a vet that has knowledge and experience with them, Tony at Mayow is that vet he's extremely good with hoggle and understands the issues that can arise when having an exotic pet. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly and hoggle is treated like a star when he has to go in, the surgery is very clean, affordable and personal including reminder texts which have his name not just 'your pet'! A great veterinary surgery is definitely recommend!

“complete trust in my animals care”

Our two elderly dogs, and even older cat, all go to this practice. Some years ago our dog Taylor was in a lot of pain and I took him to the surgery. Although his condition turned out to be quite a serious and unusual one , Mr Rogers suspected the correct cause immediately, and the very next day saw us referred to, and seen at, a specialist centre( Noel Fitzpatrick 'the bionic vet' for emergency treatment on a compressed spinal cord. Without this quick diagnosis we would not still have our dear 'boy' four years later. He still relys on a lot of mediction usually reserved for us humans, but I never have a problem obtaining this from the surgery. Our animals mean everything to us - and we would'nt take them anywhere else!

“Marmite”

I spotted my cat Marmite limping and unable to put weight on his back left paw, so took him to Mayow vets who gave him painkillers and said he could be kept indoors to rest until an x ray two days later. Marmite ignored advice and just got quicker at running round the house on 3 legs. The vee explained that whilst the x ray showed he has broken a toe, the rest of the toes act as a natural splint so no surgery or cast is needed. I am very grateful that he didn't suggest treatment if nature and time would heal things, and for his calm and reassuring manner with me and Marmite, and using easy to understand language.I'm sure if Marmite could speak he would say thank you, but 4 weeks is far too long to stay in when there are mice to chase...!

“Happy first visit”

Last week I brought Henry into Mayow vet for his first visit (a castration and microchipping).

The service I received was great, the staff friendly and the vet informed of the procedure and then walked me through the after care.

Henry was happy on his return home and there were no issues.

I will have no hesitation on returning and bringing Henry back.

“Why go anywhere else?”

I first became aware of the vet in Mayow Road a few years ago when I found a dog wandering around Sydenham, obviously lost. I managed to entice him into my car and brought him home. Later I took him to the nearest vets which was in Mayow Road and they tested him for a chip. Luckily for him he was chipped and successfully returned to his owner. Who hadn't even noticed he was missing! The receptionist at the vets was very helpful and pleasant.

When I got a cat earlier this year from a cat's home I needed a vet that was near to home. I had heard such good things about Mayow Road that I decided to give them a go. And the reports were right. Hoover had his first check up in the summer. The waiting room was nice and bright and all the other animals there were obviously regulars (a good sign). The vet was very nice and professional, giving Hoover a good once over and again receptionist couldn't have been better.

I am certainly going back and would have no hesitation in recommending them to my friends.

“Great Service, Great Price”

We recently got a new puppy and need to get him vaccinated. We were being quoted by other vets around the £50-60 mark.

Luckily I found online a voucher from the Mayow Surgery offering a deal for £10 per vaccination and booked an appointment.

The receptionist was fantastic - very friendly and helpful. The same goes for the vet, who saw us ahead of schedule, gave Gizmo a full checking over and gave him his first vaccination. He was very caring and attentive and explained things in a simple manner, which as a first-time dog owner, I appreciated.

Excellent service all round, and looking forward to taking Gizmo back for his second jab soon - although he's probably not! :)

They also provided fantastic tips to help us aid her allergies without medication so the trip was very reasonable in price. I couldn't recommend Mayow Vets any higher.

“Best Surgery by MILES!”

I've been taking my pets to Mayow Veterinary Surgery for years! Started by going along with my Mum when our pets visited & now, many, many years later, I take my own pets & am often accompanied by my own children.

The vets are always amazing with the animals, polite, professional & both reassuring & understanding. I have had pets with quite complex health needs & the vets always have their best interests at heart. I have NEVER been pushed into unnecessary or expensive treatments. I am always given options & provided with all the information (good & bad), to help me make decisions. And, when the worst has happened & one of our pets has lost their fight for life, the entire surgery have been kind, respectful & above all, supportive!

The Nursing & Administrative staff are amazing too. They are a fantastic team, which also shows in the stability of the workforce. You see the same people at every visit & their absolute passion for animals is all apparent!

I have moved further afield now but, still go back to Mayow! I will never take my pets anywhere else!

“Cool, Calm and Collected”

I took my two cats to Mayow Road Vets after a bad experience (being pinned down) lead to my cats both being traumatised by my previous vets. Milo turned Viscious and we were unable to handle him, we considered re-homing him at this point. I found Mayow Road vets online, this was our last chance to try and have our cats vaccinated and micro-chipped. The vet was so calm, so cool and he made the experience for the cats and for me a whole lot better! After re-assuring us, taking small steps, and a couple of visits both cats had their vaccines and chips. We even take our puppy there now.

Mayors is open 7 days a week, they're flexible and they always have promotions and offers on wether it is dental, micro-chips or referring a friend.

I know of many people now who also use the vets and I have recommended many friends.

“Holiday emergency”

I find this veterinary practice offers most attentive and helpful service to me and my cats. Every procedure is explained clearly and I always felt that my cats have the best care after a visit.

They go out of their way to help you as I evidenced this summer.

Following several abortive attempts of getting my highly strung cat Blue to the vet for her steroid injection before going on holiday comes the evening before we fly off and still not managed to get her to the vet! I had a teary chat with Vicky, the head nurse, who reassured me and told me to try again first thing in the morning and someone would be there to administer the injection. What a relief! Before Blue knew what happened she was in a cat box and at the vet just after 8! They don't open til 8.30! Mr Rogers was in attendance and the injection was administered and all was well.

I can't praise this veterinary service and the nurses and vets enough.

“Top service ”

I've been using Mayow Vets for over a year now and have found them impeccable on every level. I've always been proved clear, fair advise which has been trustworthy on every level. Many other people I know have complaints about vets they've used, claiming they felt decisions were made based on the cost of a treatment... However I can only say the opposite for Mayow. Every step of the way they have put the health and well being of my dog first, and even advised me against something that would have been charged for as they didn't feel it was right for my pet in that instance.

They are so friendly we are remembered and welcomed every time we arrive or even call up! Appointments are easy to get and the level of care is incredibly high. I highly recommend them.

“Highly recommended”

I found Mayow Vets online after having some unsatisfactory experiences at other practices in south east London. Its website was really informative, and even better, advertised a special deal for pet vaccinations which ended up saving me a fortune.

When I arrived at the practice, the receptionists were friendly. Everything was fully organised, my appointment time was honoured and the vet was great. He gave my two cats a thorough check-up, explained everything he was doing and gave me tips to keep them healthy throughout the year.

I am really pleased I have found a practice that is welcoming, warm and treats me and my cats with respect, rather than as an opportunity to make money. Mayow Vets offers an excellent service.

I have already and will continue to recommend them to friends and colleagues.

From the very first contact, staff has been friendly and professional. Easy to register, make an appointment and full information provided. My kitten was welcomed by the doctor and reassured. He was again very friendly and visibly skilled. Everything we needed to know was made clear and any question answered.

I contacted Mayow via email for advice and received their reply promptly. Their advice was very helpful, so helpful that I passed it onto more cat owners on a dedicated forum.

It is very thoughtful of them to maintain their prices reasonable as this allows everyone to afford taking care of a pet - such an important thing to have in a house! I also love receiving their updates via Facebook and keeping posted about their initiatives.

Overall, an outstanding clinic for our best friends.
