“Thankyou”

Milly my cat has been with abbey vets for a long time she is 16, and my other cats before her. I rang at 6.35 when I returned from work as she had a poorly eye, the lovely receptionist told me to come down even though they close at 7 , we did not leave till 7.30 which was no problem how many other businesses go out of there way like that. Excellent service x

“Satisfaction and confidence in all staff members”

I have been going here for many yrs - 10+ I would say, Clive & Nick especially have been wonderful and very, very thorough. The admin staff have always been friendly especially Gina. The nursing staff are also very, very good. I wouldn't use any other surgery local to me. Keep up the fantastic work, you ALL make a "superb team" between you. 100% recommended.

“Smokey dental work”

We have just had smokey to the vets for dental work to say we were concerned was an understatement as he is eleven and only recently became a member of our family.

The operation was carried out last Thursday and the service we had from Abbey veterinary was exemplary nothing was to much, the staff and vet told us all that was going to happen during his operation and even called us if anything extra was needed. To say that we believed he was to old to have an operation.

We picked him up at around 6pm that evening and were given instructions on what he could have during the remainder of that evening, the following day and the follow up check up appointment.

We cannot thank all the staff involved for their support and would recommend all owners of cats needing dental treatment to go ahead and get it no matter how old their cat his smokey is back to his old ways sleeping and eating all day has cats do.

“They are there when you need them”

We have used Abbey Vets for 23 years now and during that time they have looked after six cats for us. We have used them for everything from floppy tails due to cat fights, dental ops, routine vaccinations and one cat with a fractured pelvis. In every visit all of the staff are professional and know what they are doing. The nurses are very knowledgeable, very caring and friendly. We would not choose anywhere else, even though there are plenty of other vets in our area.

“Brilliant!”

I've recently had to make several visits to Abbey Vets (Chad) with my two cats and I can't fault anyone - reception, nurses, vets - for the way in which they have treated them. They are caring, kind and helpful and obviously recognise that our pets mean a lot to us. They explain fully all the treatment and any follow-up care that's needed. They were also extremely sympathetic when I had to have two other cats put down within six weeks of each other last year. This is in strong contrast to another vet practice I used to use where one of the vets was quoted in the local newspaper as regarding cats as 'vermin' - I never went there again!

We have been using Abbey Vets for a long time and have always found the staff to be friendly, informative, approachable. We cannot recommend Abbey enough as over the years we have used both Chellaston and Chaddesden practices. They just have an understanding of both yours and your pets needs. A+

No matter what time of day or night we contact ABBEY VETS, they allow us to bring Dave into the surgery without an appointment. The whole team are excellent with Dave and ourselves. From rats to hamsters to dogs, Abbey have never let me down when I have needed to turn to them for veterinary help. I have always found them reliable and sympathetic and I regularly recommend them to other pet owners I come across. Not only do my pets feel better when we have seen the vets there, I come away feeling better too, knowing our pets are always in safe hands.

Every contact in person or over telephone has always left me reassured that my pet is in very good hands and i feel positive that they would do everything in their power to ease the sufferin of any pet. my dog ruby was recently given the proud title of cutest dog which we are over the moon with and just shows you that staff are fun and friendly people as well as professionals. I am always happy to recommend abbey to my friends and colleagues only recently i had a conversation with a colleague about the best local vets to use in Derby and td them my experience at Abbey vets. Great vets especially Clive lovely friendly staff. Thank you for all your help over the years and hope there arent too many visits in the future apart the annual jabs lol

“Generations of our animals cared for by Abbey”

As a family, we have used Abbey Vets since I had my first pet, a rabbit when I was aged 7. Twenty years later, I know I can rely on the vets at Abbey to care for my animals of all shapes and sizes. The service is amazing, I can always get an appointment that suits me around my work commitments, meaning any concerns about my pets are quickly dealt with (unlike when I need a GP appointment regarding my own health!!). I have dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs and I know many of my friends do not receive the same level of service from other vets, particularly regarding small or 'exotic' animals. When my guinea pig had a heart complaint instead of being 'fobbed off', I was referred to a specialist, which proves that unlike many vets, Abbey aren't in it for the money, they are dedicated to the welfare of all animals. Personal touches such as sympathy cards when a pet passes away are above and beyond what is expected and I wholeheartedly recommend them!

“Impeccable service”

We moved to the local area and the Abbey Veterinary group was our closest vets,
The service they provide is second to none,
We had a very traumatic time when our cat Rufus was caught in an illegal trap, he suffered a broken leg which also had very badly infected tissue damage,
The Vets and staff at Abbey have been amazing, Rufus has been treated like a star ! they are very friendly and professional , the clinic is very clean and welcoming.
Value for money? Compared with our last vets, at Abbey they seem to be more about the care of animals than trying to make as much money as possible.

We have a golden oldie, a 13 year old SBT. She's come to abbey since she was a puppy, and we couldn't be happier! We have travelled to you from wherever we have lived, even though it's a long way out for us! We even get loyalty discount now. Keep up the good work!

“All the vets”

When my cat Joshua was unwell Rachel saved his life by diagnosing his kidney problems and admitting him immediately. While he was in the 'hospital' he was spoilt rotten, the nurses even hand fed him renal food. Joshua is still with us a year later - abit thinner and wobbly but at 18 it's not too surprising. He has regular check ups so the vets know him quite well.
It is a good practice, and the new building is better than the old surgery, my only gripes are the parking is limited and the waiting times are often 15 mins

“Excellent practice”

My Staffordshire Bull Terrier has been registered with the Chaddesden Branch since I had him eight years ago. Despite having had some quite serious and complex health problems in the intervening years Burnsie still gets excited when he realises where he is going, still wags his tail and practically runs to get there.
I have always found all the staff to be friendly and professional and we have always been treated well. When Burnsie needed to be referred on to have spinal surgery earlier this year everything was done quickly and thoroughly. Although the surgery was carried out at a veterinary hospital where Burnsie received excellent care he had some of his follow up care at Abbey Vets where the staff fussed him like an old friend.
I have the utmost faith in all the staff and would happily recommend them to others. What's more important is that Burnsie with his eagerness to see the staff and his excitement at going there is the best recommendation that any vet can have.
I have unfortunately had so many occasions to be thankful for the care that my wonderful companion has received.

“Superb vets excellent nurses, polite receptionist”

I own 6 dogs & 3 cats, the vets & nurses are brilliant with all 9 of my pets, one of my dogs hate having his claws cut, so I always ask if they can muzzle him first, (just to be on the safe side) they treat my dog with kindness & are very calm around him, they are always reassuring him as they are cutting his claws.
The receptionist are always polite & are very helpful on the phone & in the surgery.
I have & will continue to recommend Abbey Vets to all my friends & family.
