I have taken my dog here twice last week, my dog was 12 years old and having explained the symptoms and paid over £100 the first visit i was given metacam and some tablets as suspected infection in mouth but could not be certain what was wrong. The tablets Which did nothing for my dog at all. The 2nd visit i was told that it would be ideal to have blood tests done to check her organs were not failing as there was signs they could be, these tests with medications another £126.00 and i was told that my dogs organs were fine but there was a "few" abnormalities. Baring in mind my dog could not eat, could not drink she had blood and gunk coming out of her nose, mouth and her eyes, her pads on her paws had come off and she couldn't walk properly or couldn't go to the toilet. I was told she thinks she has an infection her in mouth.she was also weighed twice and had lost 1kg in a week.
Yesterday evening 15/05/16 at 2000hrs it was clear that my dog was deteriorating fast and having gone to check on her her water bowl was full of blood. I rang petmedics and took her down straight away the vet told me it was her organs shutting down the tissue in her paws nose and eyes are all the same and the immune system was breaking them down, he told me this within 30 seconds of being in the room with him he said to make our decision easier as a family he would do an ultrascan (no charge) he came back within a minute and showed me the scan and told me that my dog had a large tumour in her liver, and he was unsure how this had not been picked up on at my earlier visits to the vets. Yesterday i lost my dog i had her put to sleep. I am disappointed to say the least with the vet at vets4pets in Bolton and i will never ever in my life take any of my pets there again. Absolutely scandalous and i do not know how you can sleep at night and charging me all that in one week for absolutely nothing then acting like you was doing me a favour by not charging me the second time for a consultation is insulting.
We have discussed this concern with the client directly.

I've used "farm" vets for many years for most of my pets needs and they always give a straight answer because they know that in farming an animals treatment only goes as far as it's financial value.
It is difficult to find a vet who doesn't use emotions to earn extra wage from its customers.
However, Bolton vets4pets manages to combine the honesty you want in a farm vet but with compassion you want of a pet vet.
Ruth has helped me make hard decisions with my oldies, 17 and 19 year old cats and gave honest and frank advice for them. Sadly they are both now at the bridge but I will ever appreciate p4v for advising to put to sleep when it was necessary and not like some vets who drag out the inevitable for a bit of profit.

I had a lot of pets all throughout my life but never dealt with such a perfect team, almost a pity not to having more pets...
