I have visited this vet today as I'm new in the area and needed to register, I was told they would not take my dog on the books until he was sedated and had dental treatment done, when my previous vet told me less than one month ago his teeth were fine. This place is a con stay away!
Thank you for your comments, we are sorry to hear you were unhappy with the service provided.
It does appear you were trying to register for the PDSA scheme, which we run on behalf of the charity, providing a free service to members of the public who need financial help towards veterinary care.
Unfortunately the scheme itself comes with certain criteria, one of which is that the pet must be free from 'disease' at the time of acceptance onto the scheme; dental conditions, including gingivitis, periodontitis and plaque formation are considered as a dental ' disease' and if left untreated will negatively impact on an animals health.
Those pets presenting for PDSA acceptance with pre-existing medical conditions, for example, dental disease, will only be accepted onto the scheme once the underlying condition has been treated.
If you would like to contact the surgery to discuss this matter further with our practice manager you are more than welcome. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hello, my name is Stevie and I am in year 9. I was hoping to know more about being a vetinary nurse for when I'm older. I really love animals and I am incredibly friendly with them. This job is what I'm aiming for and I'd love to achieve it. Thank You
Thank you for your comments, we are really glad you are interested in a career in Veterinary Nursing and with your love of animals we are sure this is something you can achieve. If you would like to call the surgery and ask to speak to Clare she will quite happily give you some more information, alternatively if you would like we can give you a tour of the practice and discuss it with you then.
