Thank you Penmellyn Hospital for all your support for our collie cross Remy over the last couple of difficult days. Especially Vets Lindsay and James, Nurses Steph and Clare. Very professional, caring, and honest, with clear explanations for what was happening and what our options were. We received plenty of support and our 'phone calls were all responded to promptly. When James suggested an operation he carried it out within the hour. RIP Remy.

Our 8year old staffy Tsar was referred to Penmellyn by our vets in Camborne as he was having problems walking and standing.
Colin Whiting was the vet, after a trip to Bristol for M.R.I he was operated on by Colin for a bulging disc,(this all happened in a very short time)the op was successful and just under 3weeks later we have our old Tsar back.
Colin was and still is caring helpful and honest,as this was a big and sometimes dangerous operation, as far as we are concerned Colin is Cornwall's super vet.
The veterinary nurses that looked after our much loved pet were lovely to him,and made my son welcome when he visited Tsar.
The reception staff are very pleasant and efficient, what more could you want.

Took a puppy for jabs. Staff were pleasant though informed me I "Should" sign up for their puppy club. For this you pay a hefty monthly premium but included are regular check ups etc. Went home and did the maths and it turns out you need to spend a small fortune on necessary animal healthcare to equate to them getting you to sign a contract for alot of unnecessary healthcare. End of the day they wish to sell you a policy they can tax for doing next to nothing. Went elsewhere where they accept other forms of payment.
A business built on insurance claims rather that quality care at a transparent price.
Karl, we are disappointed to hear that you felt that we were selling our Care4Life plan. We are keen to explain the benefits, as it provides gold standard preventative healthcare for puppies, kittens, dogs and cats alike.
However, we are also quite happy if owners decide to have just a primary vaccine course, or our Puppy/Kitten Package (which includes routine vaccines, kennel cough vaccine for puppies, microchipping, flea treatment and worm treatment). The package cost of £62 gives a huge saving on the individual prices. The price is reduced to £31 when taking out a Care4Life plan.
We have approximately 2300 pets in our Care4Life health plan which is paid by monthly direct debit. These pets receive all their routine vaccinations and required parasite protection throughout the year. In addition, they get 20% off neuters and dentals.
We have calculated the price of the Care4Life plans to give over 20% discount on our normal prices. Despite these plans and packages we aim to provide an excellent service to you and your pets throughout their life and we are disappointed that you first impressions were not as you expected. If you would like to discuss it more, please contact the surgery and I will be happy to run through things with you.

I cannot speak highly enough about the treatment my very sick dog Indie received. From the moment I was swiftly given an emergency consultation at the St Merryn practice, where I was given an urgent referral by the vet, Peter Murrish, to the Veterinary Hospital at St Columb Major. I immediately felt that my dog was in very safe hands. Indie was extremely poorly for two days.
I received excellent and informative reports and options from Gina Togneri and an extremely helpful male vet. The nurses were also very impressive, giving informed feedback when I inquired about Indie's progress. As a tourist visiting Cornwall, I was stunned by this totally unexpected top class hospital facility.

I would just like to express my thanks to Charlotte who did the most fabulous job of bandaging Sweep's feet after she badly grazed her pads charging around. The level of care shown was commendable and thank you for your improvisation in making waterproof shoes to cover the super pink bandages. Worked beautifully.
