“Two happy cats, one happy owner”

My cats have been registered at Goddard's in Hackney for five years now and I have always been extremely pleased with how the staff are with both me and my cats. One of my cats suffers from cat flu so is unfortunately at the vets quite a bit, I've always had treatment options fully explained to me and found the price to be reasonable, especially with the care that has been given to my cats. My cat even enjoys his visits to the vets! The staff are always helpful when ~I call and will double check any concerns I have about my cat with Brian before bringing them in, so as not to make a wasted journey.
I would thoroughly recommend Brian and Goddard's to any pet owner.

I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with our service where normally the experience for clients is very much to the contrary. Suffice it to say, we do not charge four-fold for external laboratory charges made to us and so I fear that there has been a breakdown in communication. If you would care to contact the practice then we would be delighted to explain further what the options are.

“ Good buy our beloved Ginger... R.I.P”

Yesterday we said our final good buy to our beloved old friend, Ginger. Brian and the girls have been wonderful with appointments, advice and just a friendly ear over the past few months.

As always we are taken aback by Brian's professionalism, sympathy, his caring and gentle approach to our loss... It comes as no surprise, because the service has always been top notch.

But this time, with the loss of a beloved pet, he surpassed all expectations.

Thank you Brian for making it a wonderful experience and for being there when it mattered most...

My dog's almost a year old and we've been coming here since he was a puppy. The staff are always friendly, really patient with new dog owners, and give you the freedom to make your own decisions. During his recent surgery (neutering) I was able to hang out with my dog in between his pre-med and operation to keep him calm. The surgery was a success, he healed really well and was actually excited to go back for his check up. A really professional practice with great customer service.

“Very busy but worth waiting for you appointments as very thorough vet”

I have been coming to see the Hackney team with my pets for several years now. During this time I have realised that, even thought they seldom run on time with appointments, when you do get to see Brian the vet, he is very thorough and gives you as long as your pet needs. He always takes a history asking lots of questions, then he examines my cats from head to tail, even if their problem is in the foot or tail etc. He discusses options for treatments and advises the ideal treatment. I have had to have a few operations performed on my cats, and the surgical wounds are small and neat and the cats recover very quickly. His team of nurses are friendly and sometimes too busy to chat but always make time for you when necessary.

I recommend them to everyone as they are the busiest but most professional vets I have been to, which at the end of the day is most important for my pets health and benefit.

Just realise that you sometimes will not be seen on time, but your beloved pet will get a thorough examination and the best treatment advice. Go Goddards Hackney!

“We love Brian (and Angela and Janice!)!”

I grew up surrounded by animals and can honestly say none of them ever bounded into the vet's surgery the way my dog, Evie, bounces up to the door on Well Street. It is the loveliest thing- she adores going to the vet and that's all down to the lovely atmosphere created by Brian, Angela, Janice and the rest of the team. Brian is the most amazing vet ever- his manner with animals is unbelievable and I feel so lucky that we can take our dog here. Evie worships the ground he walks on- seriously, I've never seen an animal gaze with such adoration on a human wielding a very sharp needle! Appointments are very thorough and I really appreciate the fact that we always talk through treatment options rather than being given a 'one size fits all approach'.

Over the years Angela and Janice have offered great advice and warmth and always seem to be able to find an appointment for us- much appreciated!

In short, we love Goddard Hackney and the furriest member of our family loves Brian best of all. If you're not on their books, transfer here immediately- your pets will thank you!

Our kitten became really quite ill yesterday and when we woke this morning to find her deteriorated even further, we called the practice as soon as it opened at 9am on a Saturday. Even though we weren't registered with this particular practice (we are registered with another one in the Goddard group)they were very caring and accomodating from the moment I first spoke to them. Although they did not have any appointments, they told me to come down and they would see if they could fit me in. They then rang back before I had even left home to let me know someone had cancelled and they booked me straight in. Everyone at the practice was great - from Brian the vet to Janice who called with our test results when we got home - they were reassuring, caring, and professional. Our kitten seems to be on the mend already but we will be taking her back for a check up with Brian on Tuesday just to make sure. Thank you to everyone at the practice for your help

I brought my polydactyl cat Brutus to Brian after a not so good experience with another vet. I couldn't have been more pleased with the level of care that we both received at Goddard Vet.

Brian was careful, thorough and showed what appeared to be a genuine interest in Brutus' condition (a freakish extra claw that had been bothering him). The treatment he prescribed has been very effective, and I think the ongoing problem is now resolved, which I am very happy about.

Brian has a lovely manner with both people and animals - very important I think - and appears to be very knowledgeable, helpful and efficient in the care he gives. It is a great reassurance to an anxious pet owner (and a frightened pet) to feel that the vet has both you and pet's best interests at heart - this is the impression I get from Brian and the team at Goddard.

I might get cheaper service elsewhere but, in London, being recognised, remembered, my little girl's story about her sick cat being listened to, flexibility about appointments when I can't find my cats in the garden to bring them in, a sense of humour: it is really what makes the difference.
I went into another local vets once: the receptionist talking to her mate and patently not interested in serving me, yet alone building an ongoing relationship around best pet care, made me run all the way back to Well St very quick.

Also HIm being 15 it meant he would have to have a lot of visits, and him being 15 meant that his pet insurance is incredibly high so we don't have it. Even without pet insurance the rates were very affordable and the vet never tried to pursuade me to buy things I didn't need. He just advised me how to care for him and that he would like updates. My two cats are registered with the Hackney practice and we have had various health concerns that Brian and his staff have helped us with. Brian is an absolute star! Not only is he an extremely talented veterinarian but he goes beyond the call of duty. Our cat Elvis had to have a lump removed from his face and Brian's work was beautiful, this was a big lump and Elvis came home looking like he'd been to a plastic surgeon! You cannot see that it was ever there and Elvis' pathology results confirm Brian was able to remove every last bit of it. Aside from his wizardry with a scalpel Brian also helped us save a sick litter of kittens, especially one who I was sure wasn't going to make it. He has to contend with Elvis's transformation into a demonic beast from the underworld every time we visit which he takes in his stride no problem and always puts me at ease. All the staff are really kind and thoughtful, they phone up with results as soon as they can (I've even had calls out of office hours) understanding that we besotted owners fret over our little friends and are just really lovely. Everyone at Hackney clearly has a deep love of animals and I always feel 100% confident leaving my cats in their care, we are so lucky to have such a great practice in our area!

“Very good vets”

Although a very busy practice, whenever i take Herbie in to visit he is treated like a superstar the nurses give him hugs and make me very proud of my beautiful cat.
Herbie is 17 now and suffers from Thyroid issues. I am sure that its due to Brian (the vet) that he is still alive and well.

I trust Brian for his honest opinion and obvious care for Herbie`s needs. So much so that my other cat Bear will be attending his first dental operation in March at the Hackney branch and i know that he will be in good hands.

“great care”

I found it very stressful my dog getting spayed and all the staff were extremely supportive. They considered my needs and my dog'sneeds. Nothing was too much trouble. thank you for looking after both of us. She has recovered and I am getting there!

“A Veterinary surgery you can really trust.”

The Hackney surgery is great - we've been clients for nearly twenty-years. Brian and his staff have helped us through the life and loss of two beloved cats with amazing kindness and compassion.
We have a cat, Poppy, and we would never think of taking here anywhere else.
Everyone who works in the surgery are friendy, polite and all have the patience of Jobe! They go out of their way to help you - often above and beyond the call of duty. But most importantly, we trust them unquestioningly with our beautiful cat. There can be no higher praise.
THANK YOU!!!!

“There is no-one else I would take my cat to”

Brian is the most incredibly talented and dedicated vet, and quite simply I would not have my cat with me now if it weren't for him. Not only has he saved her, twice (for which I can never thank him enough), he has also ensured that she is happy and enjoying a great quality of life. The whole team are absolutely wonderful, and so kind to the animals and also their often nervous or upset humans.
Brian was recommended to me by a friend who has had cats all her life, and I have also encouraged my friends with cats to go to him. He is not the most local vet for any of us, but we would never trust our beloved animals to anyone else.

“Very busy but very good Vet”

I actually only started going to Goddard Hackney recently as our previout Vet practice could not help me with organising my cats move abroad. I called several practice and Brian (the Doctor) was the most helpful and knowledgeable over the phone. Since then the practice has been very supportive in every aspects. The practice is always busy and everyone I spoke to (Brian and the nurses) were very knowledgeable and helpful. Organising my pets move are actually the most stressful part of my move, however, they definitely are helping me to keep my stress level down!

“Trustworthy, talented vet ”

For one reason or another I have been rescuing and rehoming cats in need over the last 3 years.
I can thank Brian and his incredibly loyal hard working team for all their support in my quest to restore and re-home a portion of hackneys waif and stray moggie's.
Brian is a very talented vet who absolutely goes the hole hog to ensure the best care for his furry customers.
Last week Brain performed major surgery on my 3 legged cat with chronic colon compression. Its a high risk procedure and the outcome was uncertain but my cat has fully recovered and is visibly experiencing a whole new lease of life!!! I have no hesitation in recommending this incredible little practice.
Thank you guys xx

“Best vet”

Brian, Well Street (Hackney)'s leading vet saved our cat from certain demise. Were it not for his speed and care, our wonderful cat, Charlie, would not have made it. I'm so grateful as now Charlie is back to his old self and seems to be doing extremely well. A personal thank you from our hearts Brian; we'll see you soon I hope, but under better circumstances this time!

“Wonderful vet”

We have been going to Goddards at Well Street for our cats since we moved to Hackney in 1980 and have known Brian Barnett for a number of years. He is very good with all four of our cats and the nurses, Angie and Janice provide excellent back-up for him.

Also, he is is one of the top vets in the C4, London-wide Neutering Campaign, which we help to administer.

“Absolutely Wonderful Vet! ”

Brian and his team offer the most fantastic veterinary service I have ever come across. I cannot fault Brian's skill or knowledge (or kindness) in any way. We have had a succession of rabbits, one of whom lived to 12 years old (a great age for a rabbit). I know that Brian's excellent care and advice contributed greatly to his longevity. I have been to other vets but none are like Brian and his team who are simply wonderful in every respect. I cannot rate them too highly - 5 stars are not nearly enough. Thank you.

“My Hero”

Brian is one in a million who goes the extra mile for his patients. My old dog Ollie has cancer and Brian took the time to research the best treatment and has enabled him to have a much longer life than was on the cards. Brians commitment extends to his working all hours and always following up major treatment with a phone call. He listens and discusses treatment options and is surrounded by equally friendly helpful staff.
He is also responsible in his way of ensuring that you have a realistic understanding of your pets condition and gives you confidence that he will always help you to make the right decision.

His patient care is much better than most doctors and I totally trust him for the best support for me and my lovely dog.

“Wonderful Team, would highly recommend”

I have been attending Goddard Vet Group in Hackney for 25 years, and would not want to go anywhere else. The whole team are professional, kind, friendly and very knowledgeable about all sorts of animal care. Brian Barnett is an animal loving, patient, and importantly, calm, vet who has a huge range of experience dealing with small animal care. His approach is calming for both pet and owner, which can make what could be a stressful visit with a sick pet easier. Brian has cared for my pets for many years now and has always gone the extra mile to look after us all, explaining and discussing everything with us as we go along. I trust Brian and take his advice, but also know that I can question his opinion and discuss any matter further should I need to. I would highly recommend Brian as a vet to anyone
