We were recommended Goddard Vets on Burdett Rd by a stranger on a train, the day we were bringing our kittens home for the first time. The stranger couldn't help bounding over and telling us about the excellent vet practice she uses. After several visits, I can completely understand why.
We bring our two cats here and are always extremely satisfied with the care they get. Emily is always delighted to see them, and treats them with the utmost care and respect. There are always plenty of cuddles going around, and the cats (who normally don't really like strangers) are always calm and relaxed in her presence. Appointments are always kept to time, and the examination room is pristine.
I admit that it is quite pricey, especially when paying twice over due to having two animals, but Emily and her team really are worth the money. Emily never makes you feel rushed or silly for not understanding something, she is the embodiment of patience, and the cats are calm and patient in return. I often joke that I wish my GP treated me as nicely as my vet treats my cats!
There's no question that Emily is a true animal lover and surrounds herself by nurses that are the same (and if you have a tabby cat, like us, they'll get even more special hugs!). I honestly cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

Skip - a beautiful, gentle collie-cross - was my first dog, and the decision to have him put to sleep was one of the most difficult I have ever had to make.
I could not have wished for a more wise or understanding vet than Emily to make the call about when was the right time to let him go. She is a thoughtful and deeply caring person.
When the day came to let him go, she made sure Skip was comfortable and we had the time that we needed to say goodbye.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Emily and the team in Mile End. Although the surgery is modest in appearance, the care and skill within is outstanding. I am very thankful.

I wanted to leave a quick review for the Goddard Vetinary Group, Mile End Practice after a brilliant visit on Saturday 15/09/15 for our kitten, Phoebe, to receive her first health check and preliminary vaccinations.
As soon as we entered the practice, the attending VCA, Ipek, immediately enquired if our kitten was Phoebe which immediately made me feel relaxed and at home! All other owners in the Practice were friendly and there was lots of mutual admiration for animals.
When Phoebe and I moved through to see Vet, Emily, I was particularly impressed by her manner I'm sure managing to explain all the relevant information to an owner whilst checking an animal is not an easy skill to master! Emily was great at being firm enough in holding Phoebe to make sure her vaccinations were performed efficiently but without any undue struggle - Phoebe even received lots of tuna / chicken treats! Emily also explained that some barking we could hear was from a dog that had been rescued, reassuring Phoebe that she was safe, and me that the dog was being looked after. In short, our appointment was great and left nothing to be desired.
Finally, when back in reception, Ipek took the time to explain the Proactive Pets plan calmly with the relevant information and followed up on an email promptly when I had a query. All in all I'm quite looking forward to returning in a few weeks and sure I can say the same thing for Phoebe!

I would totally recommend Dr Emily and all the lovely nurses at the practice to carry out Euthanasia on any anmal.
My hubby and I came in with our beloved cat Sassy who had to be put down. She was an old girl (18) and was having lots of problems including getting around, as a result of a road accident 6 years ago which left her with only three legs.
What could have been a really sad occasion was handled really professionally with such compassion and understanding.
We were sat down and told of the procedure step by step and were able to give her lots of cuddles. Nothing was rushed and after we were told we could stay as long as we needed in a private room to get ourselves together.
Thank you again Emily and team and keep up the good work.

I would like to say a big thank you to Emily. hailey and the team for taking such good care of poppy.sadly poppy is no longer with us but will hold a special place in my heart and i take comfort from every time poppy needed to stay or just a little visit to the surgery she had the best of care.

The workers here are extremely friendly and helpful. The receptionist/nurse is very caring towards my pet and is there to answer any of my questions. The vet(s) are also super caring and very friendly. Definitely/100% recommend this veterinary practice!

i love your practice the vet and the nurses have always made me confident that my pet's are getting the best care and treatment that they deserve. that is why i feel very saddened that i may have to change my vet and this is a very difficult decision for me, but i have had two incidents recently where i have been unable to get an appointment. the first was a few weeks ago when my dog poppy got stung by a bee and i had to rush her to another vet. and now my cat leo is unwell and i cant get an appointment until Thursday, i can understand that it is a very busy surgery but at the same time i am very concerned about my pet's, i have been bringing my pet's here for many years and going to find another practice that i have faith in. 03/11/14
Thank you for taking the time to give our team at Mile End such wonderful feedback regarding their care and treatment of your pets. We were sorry to hear your problems regarding appointment availability at the branch and though you are correct in saying 'it is a very busy surgery' we do endeavour to see as many clients as possible each day when there are any immediate concerns regarding their pet's health. We have taken action since your feedback and sincerely hope that appointment availability issues will be less likely in future. However, due to the nature of our service this is unavoidable at times and we do offer a 24 hour service at our Wanstead Veterinary Hospital.
