“the cats whiskers!”

I took Ichigo a stray cat we had been feeding for a fair few months to this surgery, for his little boy operation, this surgery participates in the C4 cats consortium and was very local to me, i found the staff totally wonderful, and very knowledgeable ..Ichigo had his surgery and was microchipped too, the after surgery advice was amazing and very clear, top class service and would thoroughly recommend this vet and his lovely staff

“Experience, professionalism and compassion”

My wife and I have been taking our cat, Cosmo, to Milan since he was 9 weeks old. Although I grew up around cats, I had never cared for one as a kitten. Both Milan and the veterinary nurse, Karen, did a great job of showing us how to take care of Cosmo and set out an easy to follow plan to ensure that he received the various checks, vaccines, castration etc. he needed during his development into a young cat.

Cosmo is a small cat and suffered from cat flu as a young kitten. However, Milan quickly diagnosed and medicated this and showed us how to spot any reoccurrences.

More recently Cosmo became very ill and stopped eating. Identifying that this could be due to a number of conditions, Milan carried out a broad range of blood tests which showed a lack of red blood cells which led him to diagnose anaemia (this is not diet related as with Humans). However due to the nature of Cosmo's condition and the limited information that testing is able to provide, there was no way of identifying a specific cause for the lack of red blood cell production. In this case Milan was faced with the choice to sending Cosmo to hospital for a blood transfusion (which would have prolonged his stability, but not solved the problem). Instead Milan, drawing on his experience working in Hong Kong where extensive testing is not as readily available, administered a course of steroids. This resulted in a complete turnaround in Cosmo's condition and a full recovery!

I felt that both Milan and Karen became quite attached to Cosmo during his illness and showed a level of experience, professionalism and compassion which far exceeded their duty of care and we will continue to take Cosmo back to see them despite having moved out of the area.

“You make my tail wag!”

Milan is a top professional vet! The vet nurses are great too, Karen has been a constant friendly face to see at the surgery over the many years I have been coming to Goddard, dealing with queries and admin and efficiently referring on to Milan. One look at Milan and my labrador Rosie's paws leave the floor in delight. I like Milan's approach, he has Rosie's total trust and knows how to return her to good health when she has been feasting on puddles and other nasty things. Milan will recommend antibiotics when necessary but he can often find an alternative successful approach. It was a comfort to see what a quick recovery Rosie made when she came to Milan for spaying. Milan, you definitely make Rosie's tail wag! Also worthy of note is Dundonald's out of hours service which refers to Goddard Stone Lion where we have benefited from the state of the art vet hospital facilities when disaster strikes.

“Caring and professional ”

I have been coming to this surgery for at least 15 years with various of our cats and dogs. They always provide a caring and professional service and I continue to be happy with the treatment and advice given, sometimes in stressful situations for both animals and owners. I would thoroughly recommend this surgery.
