Charged £54 to see a vet and get some eye drops that cost £7 online. Really puts me off going back a bit of a rip off for a one minute consultation.
We are sorry you feel that your consultation was expensive. In charging our clients we have to cover not only the cost of drugs administered but we also charge what we believe is a fair price for professional expertise. In the case of an animal brought in with, for example, sore and weeping eyes, there are several possible causes - including ulcers, eyelid problems, hairs or other foreign bodies in the eye. Fortunately in this case it sounds like it was a simple infection treatable with antibiotic eyedrops, but this diagnosis would have been reached along with ruling out other more serious causes of the problem. Running a veterinary practice providing a very high quality of care is expensive in employing the best staff, the latest equipment, and other overheads, and we carefully consider our pricing structure to cover these expenses whilst offering a fair price for treatment to all our clients.

the mytholmroyd branch of west mount has become the branch i use even though i actually live closer to a different branch. the staff here are friendly, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable without ever making you feel you are being a neurotic owner even though we very often are!! the atmosphere is relaxed and there s an air of optimism and cheerfulness which is instantly reassuring when you bring a poorly pet in for treatment or when you ring up for advice. i cannot recommend this branch highly enough!

Since we got our dog, Daisy, in February 2011, all of the staff at the Royd surgery have been brilliant at providing a service to me and Daisy - including the free shower for Daisy when I walked into the surgery to collect some food, and the diagnosis was - "rolling in fox poo"!!

west mount is an exceptionally good practice,i have used for many years now ,with all my pets,[dogs & cats].
i have always received a very competent service and the staff are
very friendly and helpful.
When one of my dogs died ,they were very helpful and caring ,the
service for cremation etc was exceptional.
One of my cats is suffering from Hypotrophic Cardiomyopathy ,we have had amazing service from west mount and the cardio specialist. We have had the same vet working with us since my cat was first with us[8weeks old],this has really given us the best help possible as the vet knows the cat and its history really well.
I couldnt be happier with the service provided, although this is a large vetinary practice ,covering most of Yorkshire,it still manages to give that personal touch.I have a good pet insurance and have allways paid my bills upfront, when i hit a time just after my husband left me,i was really struggling for money and found it difficult to pay my bill in full, the staff were great ,really understanding and i was allowed to pay off my bill in part each week, this really helped and meant my pets still got the best care .
I would highly recommend West Mount Vets especially the team at Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge.I would allso like to send them a great big thankyou for all their help.
