We have been members of the Shawbirch practice for just under 2 years now, since we brought our Golden Retriever Sadie, home with us at 12 weeks old!
From day one of joining the practice, every member of staff has been so friendly, professional and genuinely caring for our then puppy!
We took part in the puppy parties which Sadie loved! And now at nearly 2 years old, she bounds and pulls us in to see everyone at the practice! I never thought a dog would want to go into the vets, but after the puppy parties, Sadie loves it there!
We genuinely would recommend this practice to anyone that we can and feel very lucky to have such caring people looking after Sadie! it feels more like a family practice than a money making business!
Thank-you all so much, especially to Rachel and Sophie, who played a big part in Sadie's first few weeks after bringing her home and making us feel welcome!

Poppy is our German Shepherd puppy who is now 17 weeks old. We took her for her first vaccination here at Shawbirch as it is local to us. Since Medivet have taken over this practice I cannot recommend them high enough. The staff are so friendly and give such good advice. If they don't know something they find out for you and let you know.
Poppy loved her four weeks going to puppy socialising. It did her so much good to meet other puppies and she has now made a buddy with Tia the border collie, who luckily is just as mad as she is. The very first week was a little daunting when we were told to let them off the lead one by one... but they soon were all running around sniffing each other and playing madly. It was so good to see them having so much fun (and they certainly slept well that night).
During the four weeks we were told lots of useful information such as how to stop our puppies biting us, to keep four legs on the floor and even how to clean their teeth! She is not afraid to go on the scales to be weighed nor is she scared of going into the practice... In fact we have to pop in now when she walks past just to say hello.
Having taken the advice of Sophie I got Poppy a long lead and it has been extremely useful. I hid behind a boulder today on our walk and Poppy actually stopped and came looking for me!!!
Anyone who is getting a puppy soon please get in touch with the girls to book yourself and your pup onto the puppy party... They really are good fun, and so important for puppy socialisation.

Fabulous my puppy was so nervous and as first time owners we had a lot of questions. The staff always make time for us and gave us loads of helpful hints to help with training.
Tyson loved the puppy parties and it helped us to talk to other puppy owners and out are minds at rest. I would 100% recommend taking your puppy to them we have requested a puppy reunion as are whole class was sad when it was the last one. Big thanks to all invoked and glad to have found such a brilliant vet.

We found Medivet Shawbirch a six months ago after seeing great reviews and hearing good things about them.
Our previous vet - not too far from them, treated us and our pets as a cash-point, get us in, get our money, get us out - and due to the level of care our dog Polly received, she would go mad in the car if we were within a half a mile of the place. Getting her there for her annual checkup was a nightmare.
We were very pleased we did find Medivet Shawbirch, the friendliness to us and the affection to our dog Polly was superb, we couldn't have wished to find a more friendly, professional group of highly qualified nurses and vets. We went three times, each time, Polly was keen to get IN the door!
Sadly in the end, it was bad news, and we had to have Polly put to sleep. Louise and Sophie came to our house to do the deed, and the care and compassion shown, to both us and Polly was tremendous - it mustn't be an easy job to do, but they did it with great decorum and respect.
We now have a new bundle of joy - Daisy, a beautiful little puddle-making labrador - and her visit for her first checkup was great - all the girls gave her fuss - http://on.fb.me/1QM8oLk
We signed up for the Medivet Healthcare Plan too - great idea.
We look forward to staying with Medivet Shawbirch for many years to come - keep up the excellent work, you are a credit to your profession :)

Janet Rachel and Sophie are lovely! They are friendly and approachable and their love of animals is clearly apparent. They listen and treat every animal and their owners as individuals. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you ladies x

I admit, this isn't the cheapest vet around but, in my experience it is one of the best. The staff are lovely and always have time for my pets. I trust their advice and know they'd treat my animals with the same level of love and care they'd give their own.
If I happen to walk my dog in the vicinity of the vets he will drag me in for a fuss which, it feel, is saying a lot about the level of care they provide.
Ask about their treatment plan and the price works out quite well too.
All in all, would whole heartedly recommend The Shawbirch practice.
