I have always found this vet practice to be very good and professional.
It is expensive as all vets are.
I find James the head Vet to be very knowledgeable and kind.
The nurses are lovely, and try to fit you in whenever they can.
I would recommend this vets!

I wanted to leave a review because I have been very happy with the practice and the way in which they have responded towards our dog's on-going illnesses. Always flexible in giving appointments and James the vet, called on two separate occasions to see how she was progressing after an operation.
Can't fault the level of professionalism and would recommend to any dog owner in the area.

Having used Medivet in Sidcup for the last 4/5 years approximately 6 visits overall we were pleased with the overall service. However, my last visit approximately one month ago left me wondering if some of the treatment we had paid for the care of our cat (stray who move in us about 5/6 years ago) in the past was necessary.
On my last visit I brought the cat in as he was falling off his back legs and obviously of great concern. The vet I saw had a good look at his limbs and said they seemed fine, she then suggested an x-ray £500+ and then moved on to MRI £2,000 mentioning cancer. She left me to think about this and come back the next day; she also prescribed some pain killers which I bought on the way out. I left in tears.
After calming down and thinking a bit more rationally, the next day I made an appointment with another vet (I gave them no history of my cat) He also checked the cats limbs and said they seemed fine, he said he was reluctant to give him pain killers without knowing more and suggested blood tests. The results came back in 20mins and he confirmed the cat had renal failure. Total cost for visit and some medication £70. He is now on a renal diet and picking up. Its saddens me to write this but I am so upset.
We are very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the recommendations our vet gave during your consultation. We would welcome the opportunity to resolve this matter and discuss any misunderstanding with you.
Our branch partner, James at Medivet Sidcup has looked into your comments and would encourage you to call him at your earliest convenience so that he can discuss the case in more detail with a hope to resolve any concerns you may have.

Should have added that Medivet were also top notch at looking after the dog in the years prior to his passing. They also take care of the cat, and will continue to do so.
First rate diagnoses, advice and recommendations, and a lovely personal friendly touch- they really know the animals and owners they serve.
I wouldn't dream of using anyone else, and would thoroughly recommend them.
Medivet Sidcup team- thank you for the card and beautiful poem that arrived this morning.

The time recently came to say goodbye to my 15 year old dog; his back legs, which had been steadily getting weaker, finally legs gave way. He couldn't get up, and was clearly distressed. I made the dreaded phone call and explained that I couldn't get him into the car (he growled if we went to move him), and Medivet said they would come to the house.
Jana and her assistant arrived, and the whole thing was done so peacefully and calmly. They gave us as much time as we needed, and the old boy passed away in my hands, in familiar surroundings.
I offered to pay, and Jana said "no need right now, it can wait till you've all settled down a bit" or similar.
I cannot thank them enough for how they handled this.

My 1st experience of this vet was great, a good consultation, reasonably affordable and genuinely seemed to care about my Ridgeback Gatsby. We changed to this practice as it was closer to home.
However he was booked in for X-rays following a repeating limp and they sedated him without even checking their machine and found it wasn't working properly. This meant that my boy was sedated for no reason, we all know their is a small risk with every sedation and this was done for 0 purpose. We were no closer to finding out what was wrong and he was starved and had no pain meds for no reason. To make matters worse they did not call me when they realised this at 12pm , having woken him up. They left it for me to ring at 4pm, expecting to have X-ray results and my mind put to rest with what is wrong, instead I was told that they needed to speak to me about Gatsby, this alone panicked me for no reason, they then informed me that they didnt X-ray him. His sedation was for no reason and they had not had the decency to call and apologise as soon as they realised their mistake. In my opinion and that of other vets this is negligent and unprofessional behaviour, a competent vet would always routinely check a machine especially before a sedation. Also in the event of this I would at least expect a call promptly and the services performed to be free of charge, rather than having to claim for it on my insurance. , I will not be using this practice again, let alone recommending it to others.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, and discussing this matter with us on the phone. At Medivet we always strive to treat all pets as if they are our own. We would just like to stress again how sorry we are that we failed to properly communicate an update on your pet's condition, and understand how distressing this would have been for you. We have taken this matter seriously, and followed this up with the relevant staff involved who have been briefed on the correct procedure should a failure of equipment happen again.
Our clients' feedback is really important to us as it allows us to continually grow and improve our level of service.

As first time pet owners we came to MediVet via recommendation of a neighbour when we first homes our rescue cat 3 years ago. I have always found them incredibly helpful and they will be as flexible as they can when it comes to appointments etc. They also dealt directly with my pet insurers which takes a weight off. All the staff are lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice.
