All the staff are so lovely and always do anything they can to help. Everyone knows me by name and are very welcoming even when I have been very upset.

I recently took my two dogs for their 6 month check up as part of their health plan. The receptionist was friendly and efficient, our wait was short and the vet had a very good 'vetside' manner with my old spaniel and my young beagle. My spaniel is rather grumpy and irritable and my beagle rambunctious. She handled both beautifully as well as their owner. Very happy.

I have lived in the area for most of my life I came to this vet clinic over 50 years ago as a child , with my family and extensive menagerie of precious pets It has since changed hands ,developed and adapted over many years I have watched with interest the staff development, the expansion , the reburbishment and in general how veterinary practise has advanced Medivet has been my chosen vet now for over 20 years having supported my now grown up family with all the pets we have had and those who are still registered at the practise for their care and advice . My father at 89 years still uses medi vet on a regular basis as he often needs a little extra help administering eye care and feed advice for his dog and always finds welcoming hands along with a friendly face offering to Help him with these challenges as he drives past in his mobility scooter with his dog perched happily in the basket on the front appearing to lead the way ! Having animals is expensive , and endeavouring to give my pets the best care without draining the bank balance is a tricky challenge ,.. medi vet can be relied upon to show sensivity , offer sound advice and explore opportunities for options of treatments ... In truth the Oxted medivet staff have over the years at times felt like extended friendly family .... always there in a crises and excellent at follow up care and end of life care for our precious pets too .. I would consider going elsewhere in an emergency if medivet was closed, but I will always return to them ....

4.8 Stars - 22-06-2016 - Chrissy

We have had Chrissy - a Patterdale terrier for nearly five years and she has been a frequent visitor to Medivet Oxted. We have always been very happy with the care we have received, especially from Matt and Paul and Chrissy always enjoys her visits - even when she has to have injections or has blood taken. We were especially grateful last year when Matt supervised treatment for a badly ulcerated eye and with his expertise and our persistence with eye drops - sometimes giving 27 drops per day! - her eye was saved. Chrissy also has regular holidays in the kennels and she is always happy to see her friends who make a great fuss of her. It is also reassuring for us to know that she can continue to receive her eye drops (thankfully only one per day now) and we know there is back up from the medical staff during her stay. So thanks to everyone at Medivet Oxted.

Our hamster Keith caught his leg in his cage and badly broke it, this was no problem for the team at Medivet Oxted. They were so lovely to us throughout our deciding period and at all times treated us and Keith with compassion and respect, we eventually decided on a leg amputation. When we picked Keith up after the operation we got to meet the whole team who had worked on him and now we are bringing our cat in for a check up everyone still asks about how Keith is doing which is such a nice and personal atmosphere to be in. The day after the operation the vet called to check on him and asked me about his stitches and how he was taking his medicine, he assured me that I could call with any questions I have, again, a lovely and personal service. Keith is now five days in to his antibiotics and is flying around on his three legs without a care in the world! We have had some experiences of incredibly bad vets so coming here has been such a relief and I would recommend this practice to anyone and everyone! Thank you team!

5 Stars - 18-07-2015 - Cosmo & Elliott

Cosmo & Elliott saw Paul today who was very friendly and knowledgable. It was there first vet visit for awhile as we are new to the area and also had previously been put off by our past vet who seemed to care more about how much he could charge us for the visit rather than the welfare of our cats. We didn't feel rushed, felt we were given great advice and really appreciated the fact that Paul gave us a call later in the day to let us know he'd been thinking about what we said and suggested a book could help us treat the issues with one of our cats. Overall feeling very pleased! Thank you for restoring our faith in vets!

I cant thank this practice enough for the friendliness and Professionalism shown. I called under sad circumstances knowing my pet was very hurt. The receptionist called my pet by his name throughout the whole conversation and was extremely helpful. Within 20 min of calling we had been seen and my animal had been put out of his pain - but only after the vet asked me what i wanted to do rather than telling me what i should do. All i can say is thank you.

1 Stars - 17-02-2015 - LocalResident

Medivet have no consideration for local residents. Dogs are left to bark out in the open all night for hours on end. The original licence was for vetinary services and long term quarantine, not short term boarding and day creche. By the time the poor dogs have settled in and calmed down their stay is over. The practise will not entertain the idea of putting up any form of sound insulation. Goodness knows what traumatised state the animals arrived home in. Medivet you are bad neighbours. This review will no doubt be suppressed.

Vet Response

Thank you for your review. We highly value all feedback so that we can continually improve on our level of service. Here at Medivet Oxted, we pride ourselves in providing a high level of service to the local residents in the form of veterinary care, dog crèche, boarding and grooming. Our experienced staff monitor all pets during their stay. We do encourage monitored outdoor playtime during normal practice hours. Pets are secured indoors at night with soft bedding and a heat lamp to keep them warm. We try to disturb the pets as little as possible during afterhours. In recent years, our focus has become more towards the day crèche. We do still experience higher numbers of boarding pets during the school holidays, but do all we can to ensure that the community are affected as little as possible during our busy seasons. Medivet Oxted is licensed as a Veterinary Practice and has been granted a license by the local council as a dog boarding facility and day creche. By receiving our license, we pride ourselves in adhering to all regulations put in place by the local council which is governed by the chartered Institute of Environmental Health. We are therefore very sorry to hear that you feel we are not considerate of the surrounding community and we would urge you to contact us if you would like to discuss your concerns further.

We have been visiting Medivet Oxted for over 5 years now. One of our cats is a serial offender of injury ranging from a blocked colon to torn ligaments and a broken ankle. Matt and his staff know our pets. They are always greeted warmly and are always remembered. even on a general visit we have nurses regularly come out to see how our boys are getting on. Treatment has been knowledgeable and swift. Expert referrals have been spot on and I cannot rate them highly enough. Vet bills wherever you go are high, but at the end of the day it's private health care for our pets. I have had dealings with other vet centres and they have been very expensive without the level of care and expertise Medivet Oxted have given us. I would rate them fairly on their fees and wouldn't dream taking our boys anywhere else. It is a concern to when they are closed if there is an emergency as we have had to take one of our cats to Richmond their sister branch as we would not touch the Caterham Pet hospital with a barge pole. Their kennels are great, we are always happy to leave our cocker there, he always comes back happy. Their groomer Hollies Hounds who is not associated with Medivet but works on the grounds is brilliant also. the vet center are always clean, the staff friendly & professional and more importantly they have bonded well with our pets and we have always felt confident with every appointment with them.

Out siamese cat had an accident with trauma on the brain, Medivet did everything they could to try and save her even driving with us to Richmond to help us through the traumatic experience of having to put her to sleep. Our vet at Oxted was amazing and really made it a peaceful time for our cat, all the staff from reception to vets were tremendous and really helped us through a very painful time. We have the ashes of out cat and a few months later we bought a new siamese kitten who has helped us through our loss, thank you to Medivet for showing so much care to cc. We are extremely grateful for all the kindness and love you gave to her.
