Our dog Ruby was in the most dreadful pain we bought her along to medi vet in Southend as an emergency, on arrival at 7pm there was another patient in front of us so understandable we had to wait to be seen, when we did get attended to the vet was halfway through the consultation when another patient came in, the vet left us and went to see to the other patient, we was left alone for at least 20 minutes, there was no other staff I would have at least expected to see a nurse and a receptionist as well as a vet on duty, we walked out of the practice and went to another practice where it was diagnosed our dog had a slipped disc she is now recovering from an operation. I am very disappointed as we use medi vet in Hockley and have always found them very professional .
Vet ResponseThank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We can understand how distressing this must have been for you to see Ruby in so much pain and are pleased to hear that Ruby is recovering well from her injuries. Our Medivet Southend hospital can be very busy and the team work hard to assess the seriousness of each case as they come in as this allows us to treat cases in order of priority. We do our best to ensure clients are kept updated when there may be a delay in treating their pet and we are very sorry we didn’t communicate effectively to you. As a valued client we would really welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter with you further.

Such a friendly & caring team always offering a warm welcome & a smile with a genuine love for animals. They not only looked after our puppy Chester when he was poorly but now he loves going in there to see the whole team. To top it off the puppy parties Medivet hold have been great and a great idea. Chester now loves going to see the Medivet team for when he has his jabs & even got a graduation certificate for going. Thank you to the whole team & keep up the good work. Highly recommended.

Wow .. what a different experience we had with Oliver and the crew from another vet in Rochford as our mutt Colin could/was a difficult patient. In November they saved his life from Sharpei fever. Sadly he had arthritis in his front left knee and then a cruciate ligament went in his right rear leg and with a few other problems he was put to sleep after a thorough examination under anaesthetic as at the tender age of 10 n half we decided an operation would not be beneficial to his health and life as a dog. Thank you Oliver ... and the crew for all you done for him and us.. kindest regards to you all. Phil.

We sadly had to have our beloved16yr old jack Russell, Leo, put to sleep recently. The team were very supportive and respecful from the outset, leaving us to spend as much time with him at the end as we wanted.Today we received a card and a packet of Forget me Not seeds from the practice.A lovely thought. Thankyou.

Excellent service when everywhere else is closed. I have used Medivet twice due to my dog eating unsavoury items, both times they have been fantastic and treat him with such care. Thank you!

The staff, all of them, were very kind and caring when we lost our beloved Welsh terrier aged 11. It was a very sad experience but made a little more bearable by the staff who gave us time with him at the end.

Medivet in Southend are absoloutly amazing! They saved my rabbits life and treated him so well. I only had him for 3 days before he started going downhill (he hadn't had the best care where I had bought him from) & they bought him back to life! He was a totally different rabbit from even when I first got him, he's so full of life! I can't thank them enough! Sophie & little Grey (the rabbit) x

Think twice before using this vets - I have an outstanding invoice of over five thousand pounds despite having already paid two thousand via my pet insurance and my complaint is unresolved and now with the RCVS. I am devastated at the loss of my beautiful dog. Vets must learn to acknowledge when mistakes have been made and learn from those mistakes!
Vet ResponseWe grew to love and deeply care for Cujo and were devastated by his loss. We pride ourselves in providing the highest possible standard of care. Our aim is to always treat each pet as if it was our own and each pet's welfare is at the centre of all of our decisions. We discussed Cujo's treatment plan with you openly and regularly throughout his time under our care. Costs very much depend on the varying size and depth in a particular case and the necessary treatment. However, treatment would only be carried out once discussed in full and approved by the owner. We are more than happy to re-discuss each option that was available to you in Cujo's treatment and the costs involved. We provided only the highest standard of care to Cujo during his treatment and did everything that we could. The loss of a pet is always difficult for everyone involved. We are happy to discuss Cujo's treatment and case with the RCVS.
