I brought in my very sick hen, Lavender, who Jason had treated many times before for crop issues. She was dying and wasting away and Jason, as always, was so kind and gentle with her. I visit the Pool practice frequently as I have many poorlie ex-commercial hens and the team there help me care for them. All the staff treat me personally - when I ring up, they know who I am immediately and if I am in for a routine appointment they chat to me in reception. If however, I am bringing in a very sick hen or cat that needs to be put to sleep, they are respectful and let me sit quietly. Jason (and Gina) are always understanding, kind and professional, allowing me to sit in a separate room with the hen whilst the hen passes away and letting me leave by a side door. Having pet hens is a recent activity and the vets have always treated my girls with the same respect and care they would any pet. There is never, ever, the implication they are 'just hens', my girls are as important to them as they are to me and I could not provide the care I do for these girls without the experts at Pool.

All the staff recognise my kitten, taking a kind and friendly interest in his wellbeing and growth, making him feel comfortable and welcome. They provide a variety of excellent cost effective packages for checking and providing essential care and treatment throughout his growth - for example microchipping, neutering, flea and tick treatment - which they also give thorough advise and information about. The appointments are timely and I've never waited long, as well as excellent out of hours services. Even though I've moved further away, I continue to bring my cat to the Penmellyn vets at Pool.

I have used Penmellyn for several years now after being referred for my horses operation and being so impressed with them. Amazing value and service. My dogs and horses have received the best treatment, from cancerous eyelid removal, to broken legs to end of life care and puppy vaccinations. I have nothing but praise for them.

The Pool team are fantastic. I have visited with my dog Lily on a number of occasions as she had an op then had an infection etc. Every time the vet and nurses were lovely kind and helpful and made me feel very at ease. I was made to feel that they were right there in case I was concerned about her recovery. Lily loves going there now too as they are so friendly!

I and my puppy had a pleasant experience from the moment we entered the vets. Friendly and thorough. Makes such a difference when the vet listens and clearly had listened to any concerns on previous visits. These were re visited and discussed.

I went to the vets with my poorly girl, i had to go back and forth for 2 days but i was treated with respect and felt part of the family. The support was incredible. The receptionist helped me with my questions and jason had the time to talk to me about my cats condition. He offered advice and he was friendly. He treated my cat as if she was a human with great respect. I came in feeling awful. I left feeling im a top cat mum and im now not affraid to call for help. You guys rock.

Lovely staff who are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you and your pets, wouldn't take my pets anywhere else to be treated as they treat them as one of their own.
