This vet was fabulous, the receptionists are realy nice. they are a very child friendly place they even explained are little cats illness to my daughter. after some medication Fluffy was right as rain. they are amazing vets! I recommend them to everyone

Rang vets for pets barnsley on Sunday after finding my Felix age the bottom of the stairs his back end had gone. They told me to take him straight there. From arriving they were truly wonderful David the vet was so supportive and kept us constantly upto date with his responses and advised us of any outcomes..he was supportive in our decision and left us to say our good byes in peace before taking my heart broke that day but the staff were totally great Thankyou

First met Peter when he first opened Vets 4 Pets and came out to my home to put to sleep my old dog. We were not even registered with the practice. So when we got our new dog we came and registered. The care has been second to none and Peter really got to know our Bobby over the past 14 years(he was a rescue dog). Likewise Bobby got to know him. Bobby was coming to the end of his life and now nearly 16 years old. and was seeing Peter on a regular basis with his medication. Then all of a sudden Bobbys condition got worse and we knew the time had come. Rang the vets on the Friday asking for a home visit to be told they do not do home visits. Then they said they could come out the following Wednesday. Why? is because the practice is now getting too big? Feel truly let down. To do home visits when first starting up whether your dog was registered or not was not a problem. We always believe that when the time comes to say good bye to your dog it is done in its own home environment surrounded by familiar things. Needless to say we will be transferring our other dog onto another practice. We rang Abbey Vets Saturday morning at 9 a.m. explained how we had been let down by our vet of 12 years or so. By 9.45 a.m. we had a visit from the vet and nurse.So kind and compassionate. They were brilliant. Need to look at your "End of Life " policy Peter or you will lose other clients

Dear Janet, I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to arrange to do a home visit for Bobby, we had issues with getting a vet available to leave the practice. If it could have been possible to cover the workload and hospital patients we had in, you know that I would have come out. Home visits aren't always easy to arrange, especially at short notice due to the 24 hour care needs of looking after the hospitalised patients, some of whom are critically ill, and I am truly sorry we couldn't arrange this for you at this upsetting time. It's really upset me personally that I couldn't be there for him and it's really upset me that you feel let down, as that's the last thing I would ever want after all these years. If I could change this situation, I would in a heartbeat. Peter

I note a previous comment regarding waiting times, I always see Peter and yes I usually have to wait a little past my booked time, for me this is not a problem because I understand that sometimes some pets and owners need that extra time and the vets never rush you out of the surgery. This worked well for me recently when I had a 13 month old very poorly dog. I had three days, of my dog having seizures and not recovering, being very agitated, frustrated and confused for the full 3 days with hardly minutes is respite. When I phoned the vets there was always genuine concern, I was allowed to take my dog in immediately to see a vet, one night at 22:30 the vet on duty spoke and advised me me over the phone so I didn't have to take her out, there are not a lot of vets that will help and advised without a consultation for you to pay for. Sadly on the third day after speaking to a couple of different vets over previous day's it was decided that Luna was not going to fully recover and the kindest thing to do would be to put her to sleep. The vet considered our feelings and left us alone in the room to spend some time with her. Not only was Luna's care a consideration but so were we. I always feel fully informed about my pets condition, everything always fully explained and have 100% confidence in Vet4pets, Barnsley. Keep up the fantastic work every member of staff you are a credit to vetenary care and a huge thank you for everything you have done for my pets and us over the last 14 years.
