We needed to bring our 17 year old cat Jupiter in to be euthanized. All the staff were extremely kind to both myself and my husband. Their method was so much more kind then the last cat we took to another vets for the same process some years ago. We cannot thank the vet in attendance and all the staff enough for their kindness. i do think that was to much she look the same has she went in it seamed you only got the hair out of her ears everybody i know cant believe i paid that much i would never bring her to you again i did think you was going to cut all her hair of.
Vet ResponseHaving spoken to the staff involved, I can confirm that we carried out the exact procedure you consented to in writing, which was clipping the matts and plucking the ears. You were also given an estimate and the final price was only marginally above this. A vet and a nurse spent over 30 minutes clipping your pet under sedation and looking for grass seeds. - This means over 60 minutes of grooming (2 people, >30 minutes each) and maintaining/monitoring the sedation for over 30 minutes. I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the results, but a dematt was performed by clipping the matts and brushing the rest of the coat as well as examining and plucking the ears, a full body clip had not been discussed and is different from a full body dematt. We are a veterinary practice and carry out some grooming procedures for health care reasons or if they require sedation, we are not trying to compete with grooming salons and our staff and equipment are very, very different from a grooming salon and the prices are therefore different, too. Highly qualified colleagues ensured that the risky sedation went smoothly and that Poppy recovered well. We wish you and Poppy all the best for the future.

My cat has a thyroid condition and I was given medication to control this. When they gave me the medication they told me to keep away from children but nothing else was mentioned. About a month or so later I took my cat back for a review and when I was talking to the vet I mentioned that I was in the early stages of pregnancy at which point she said I should be wearing gloves to give the daily meds to my cat as if the meds got into my system (apparently they can sink into your skin when wet, which they regularly were as my cat spits them out) they can cause damage to the baby. I was so upset, worried and disgusted that they hadn't told me this! They claimed they had but they hadn't, so irresponsible. But I carried on with them after complaining. Every month my cat has the same expensive medication for the rest of her life and every month I ring up to order then collect them. I am currently 41 weeks pregnant and rang them today to ask for the meds and they said they cannot give them until I have brought my cat in for yet more blood tests to check how the meds are working (although you can clearly see they are as she had put weight on, no longer crys and looks well) I explained I'm about to drop and there's no way I can drive from kempston to London road with a 2 year old, drop my cat off then come and pick her up later. That and the fact I could go into labour whilst my cat is at the vet so how would I then pick her up? I have only managed to get child care for my toddler if in labour no one is free to go and pick my cat up. I explained all this and that I could bring her in next month but they point blank refused to issue her meds. So I am now going to have a very sick and misreable poorly cat until I can get her to a new vets. Disgusted is not the word they don't care about the animals or anyone's situation they are just money grabbers. The only vet I know that charge to complete an insurance claim form as well.

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO VETS4PETS BEDFORD FOR MANY YEARS ACTUALLY WHEN THE PRACTICE FIRST STARTED IN LONDON RD BEDFORD AND I WOULD NOT CONSIDER TAKING MY ANIMALS ANYWHERE ELSE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, MAINLY OUT OF THE 3 ANIMAL AT HOME MY LITTLE DOG "MUFFIN" IS THE MAIN ONE WITH CONSTANT PROBLEMS OVER THE YEARS WITH 3 OPERATIONS ETC ETC ALL CARRIED OUT BY BEDFORD VETS4PETS, NICOLE AND WENDY AND ALL THE TEAM ARE THE MOST CARING AND THOUGHTFUL PEOPLE TO LOOK AFTER YOUR PET AND ADDRESS ANY HEALTH ISSUE NEEDS YOU HAVE REGARDING YOUR PET... Well decided to give call to Vets4Pets as my 9 year old German Shepherd became a bit ill, it was on Saturday so I was bit worried that may run in to expensive bills but that was not the case, I was offered appointment that afternoon after I expressed my concern about our dog, arrived to clean Clinic and was welcome by Friendly staff, after few minutes chat with the vet and giving her good health check I was advice what would be the best treatment for her, also was advice by other products by Vet that could help in near future but wasn't pressured to spend any unnecessary money. Very pleased with my visit and if Nicole reading this our dog all ready feeling better. Thanks to all staff.

I found this surgery to be self-righteous and stuck-up. They frown and moan if you are a minute late, yet have the cheek to keep you waiting for ages. They act as if they are doing you a favour for which you should be eternally grateful, forgetting that they are one of the most expensive vets in Bedford. I'll be using a vet that cares about my pet more than they care about the money. I'll bet the consultation cost you won't be posting this review. But, word of mouth travels fast.

I take your comments really serious and will definitely investigate what happened there. I just wish you had contacted me first, giving me a chance to put things right for you and your pets. We always try to create a positive atmosphere for our patients and clients and I am sorry that this did not come across when you visited us recently. I realise that your time is as valuable as ours and apologise for the waiting time you mentioned. But I must also add, that it does make it extremely hard for us to be on schedule when clients come in late for their appointment. This is one of the reasons we occasionally run behind, as we then have to try and fit everything in. We offer 15 minute appointment slots because we like to take time to assess each case thoroughly and provide the best advice and treatment for animals under our care. Unfortunately this allocated time is not always sufficient for unexpectedly complicated cases and we are truly grateful to our patient clients who understand this. It is the nature of our business that we get emergencies in between scheduled appointments and occasionally even have to call clients to re-arrange routine appointments in order to minimise waiting times. And if a client is late for their appointment, we always appreciate a quick phone call to enable us to work around this and help us plan our day. Thank you

I've been using Vets 4 Pets Bedford for a few years now and their standard is always very high! The staff are lovely and really listen to your worries or quiries. My cats always get treated with respect and comfort from the vet. I know if they ever need a procedure that they are in good hands and I have nothing to worry about. There not the kind of pratice to do a procedure 'just because' they always have my interests but mostly my cats interests in mind.
